Thrasher Unveils the new PolyLEVEL product
Thursday, July 19th, 2012 by Thrasher
Thrasher Foundation Repair and sister company, Foundation Supportworks, constantly strive to be innovators and leaders in their field. This is why they recently unveiled a new product: PolyLevel.
PolyLevel is a polyurethane application used for slabjacking or mudjacking. Slabjacking is the process of injecting a substance beneath a concrete slab that has settled and raising it up to its original level. PolyLevel is unique because instead of using a mud and concrete mixture (like mudjacking) it uses a two part mixture that, when combined, creates a foam that expands, lift the concrete, and hardens within seconds.
Because PolyLevel is polyurethane, it is only 2.5 pounds per cubic foot as opposed to 100 pounds per cubic foot for conventional mudjacking material. This means that by using PolyLevel, a slab is less likely to settle again due to the reduced weight. Just because PolyLevel is light, does not mean that it is not strong, PolyLevel is capable of lifting up grain bins, highway road slabs, and much more. Just in case there is a complication though, PolyLevel comes with a 5 year warranty.
The material is pumped through tiny holes, only 3/8ths of an inch, and is much cleaner than any alternative. This type of project can be installed in less than a day in most cases and and the pavement can be driven on in just 20 minutes. PolyLevel is an inert material, meaning that is safe for the environment. In fact, it helps reduce the production of concrete which also is good for the environment. Mining of cement is very hazardous so anything we can do to prevent the need helps.
Concrete leveling with polyurethane is not new, just new to residential home improvements. In fact, this technology has been used on highways and bridges for over 20 years. It wasn't until recently that our team found a way to develop equipment that was small enough that it could be used in residential applications. Now this technology is available for anyone in the Midwest and at a fraction of the cost of replacing concrete.
This service is a natural fit for Thrasher Foundation Repair. Lifting and leveling concrete helps keep water flowing away from homes, and helps prevent structural issues with foundations. Since Thrasher has been in the basement waterproofing and foundation repair industry since 1975, helping customers prevent those issues makes sense. In many cases, we will be able to fix those problems and solve the concrete problems at the same time. That makes us more of a one stop shop for many of our customers.
Thrasher even has experience with concrete leveling as we did mudjacking throughout the 1990's. After 10 years we stopped offering the service as it didn't prove to be permanent enough. We have always wanted to get back into this service, but we hadn't found a long term solution until now. Our experience lifting foundations and concrete, along with this newer technology allows us to serve our customers and live up to the expectations that they have. That means high quality, professional, and long lasting services.
If you or someone you know has a problem with uneven concrete slabs, give us a call to schedule an appointment or online at https://www.gothrasher.com/contact-us/. We offer this solution throughout our service area in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri from our offices in Omaha, Grand Island, Sioux City, Des Moines, Wichita, Kansas City, and Springfield.
