Why test for radon gas in your home

Radon is completely odorless, colorless, and tasteless, which means that its presence is impossible to detect with just our human senses. The only way to know whether your home has dangerous radon levels or not is to perform radon testing. Even if your neighbors have tested their homes and come back with low results, your home could still be at risk – radon can exist in any home and any location, regardless of how old or new the property. The EPA recommends testing your home for radon every two years.

When Thrasher performs a professional radon test, we will determine whether your home has dangerous radon levels and, if high levels are found, we can install one of our proven radon mitigation systems. We always look out for our customers' best interests, so you can trust us to restore your indoor air quality to a healthy condition if needed.

Radon mitigation systems: sub-slab depressurization

Thrasher's radon mitigation systems use sub-slab depressurization to reduce radon levels.

How sub-slab depressurization works in radon mitigation

  • PVC pipe collects soil gasses
  • Radon is piped upwards in the building through the stack effect
  • A radon depressurization vent forces radon gas out of your house

As a full-service radon mitigation contractor, Thrasher can also install a radon mitigation system that is compatible with the current waterproofing system in your basement or crawl space.

For a radon testing or radon abatement inspection, contact Thrasher today. We provide indoor air quality services throughout Grand Island, Bellevue, Council Bluffs, Norfolk, Fremont, North Platte, Kearney and nearby cities in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri.
