Cracked Driveway Gets New Life with Poly Foam
This homeowner wanted to fix their cracked driveway before putting their home on the market. When we performed the inspection, we found that the front driveway slabs and back patio were settling really badly. This can occur for three reasons:
- The soil was poorly compacted when the home was built.
- Water was entering through the broken control joints and washing out the soil.
- The soil dried out underneath the slabs and created voids. When this happens, the slabs loose the support from the soil and sink into the voids.
Luckily, we have solutions to fix these issues. To lift and level the concrete, we used PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam that's injected underneath the slab that will compact the soil underneath and fill the void space. And for the control joints and cracks, we used NexusPro Joint Sealant to seal the concrete and keep water from penetrating the surface.
