We're on a mission to redefine the contractor industry
Since 1975, Thrasher has been more than just a contractor - we've been a constant in the lives of families throughout the Midwest. Our purpose is clear: to redefine the industry. This means raising the bar for what homeowners can expect from a contractor. We've all experienced frustrating contractors - the ones where promises aren't kept, timelines get stretched, and quality is compromised. It's time for a change. That's why we've dedicated ourselves to changing the way people think about contractors.
Our journey began almost 50 years ago, and today, we're setting new standards for the homeowner - contractor relationship. We're not just fixing homes; we're restoring your faith in exceptional service. Because we believe that raising the bar with us means raising it for all contractors.
Step back to 1975 when Thrasher was born as a small family business , with Greg Thrasher at its heart, in a humble Iowa farmhouse. Greg's vision and dedication, with his wife Nancy, nurtured the business from its inception. What started as the "friendly family down the street that does waterproofing" has transformed into a company that employs hundreds of hardworking individuals across multiple Midwest locations. But one thing remains true: as we've expanded, family is the very core of our identity.
Greg & Nancy Thrasher launch Thrasher Basement Water Control from their farm house in Earling, Iowa.
The Thrasher family moves 60 miles southwest to Omaha, Nebraska, continuing the business from their home office.
Expands service offerings
Thrasher expands their service offerings and begins helping homeowners not only with basement waterproofing, but with foundation repair as well. The fleet expands to include 3 trucks.
Thrasher is incorporated
The company is incorporated as Thrasher Basement Waterproofing, Inc.
A shift in focus
After years of working on every project, Greg injures his knee and is unable to work in the field during recovery. Greg's focus shifted to working on the business and surrounding himself with the best people he could find. This shift caused a growth spurt and the comapany expanded to serve most of Nebraska and Iowa. Picture here Greg is working at a home show and has enlisted his father Merle Thrasher to help.
First office building
Thrasher grows into their first official office and warehouse at 66th and Grover in Omaha, Nebraska, and begins serving homeowners across the entire state of Nebraska, Western Iowa and Northwest Missouri.
Basement Systems network
Joining the Basement Systems dealer network brough access to patented products and comprehensive training and support. This also led to a name change to Thrasher Basement Systems.
New company name
Thrasher changes its company name to Thrasher Basement Systems, Inc.
A permanent facility
After over 20 years of officing out of their house, Greg and Nancy invest in a permanent office space with an adjoining warehouse. This is the first time that all employees report to the same location every morning.
After growing up working on a crew every summer, Greg and Nancy's son Dan returns full time to work in the business.
Moving on up
Thrasher's continued growth requires a move into a new 40,000 square foot building
in La Vista. The new space has a new training center and room for growth.
The Thrasher family decides to invest in manufacturing their own products. This investment allows for product development of new solutions and improvements on older ones. It also gives Thrasher customers the most advanced solutions at a competitive price.
Kansas Basement and Foundation Repair
Alongside Thrasher, Kansas Basement and Foundation Repair is a Supportworks dealer from Day 1. Danny Morrow and Greg Thrasher continue as friends and business colleagues, both now offering basement waterproofing, foundation repair and concrete repair services.
Thrasher helps develop and introduce a new technology for lifting and leveling concrete. A suite of products to restore and preserve concrete follows.
Thrasher Basement Systems is re-branded to Thrasher Foundation Repair to better represent the growing list of services.
Thrasher joins forces with Kansas Basement and Foundation Repair of Wichita, Kansas, upon previous owner Danny Morrow's retirement. As long-time friend and business colleague of Greg Thrasher, Danny knew he wanted to leave his employees in good hands.

To redefine the industry
Contractors have a bad rap - for good reason, too. It's common to experience contractors who don't show up, don't return calls, and don't clean up after themselves. Well, we're on a mission to change that. We believe in a world where the contractor cares deeply and builds a long-term relationship with you, from the very first call to the final handshake. We believe experiences can be remarkable. We believe we can redefine the industry.
Deliver a wow experience and challenge the status quo
Our mission statement tells us what we do and how we go about our daily work to fulfill our purpose. At Thrasher, we challenge the status quo by never accepting that the way things are today is the way they should remain. Every single interaction a customer has with Thrasher should leave that customer saying "Wow!"
Our core values
Unified as a family and empowered to be extraordinary.
We push ourselves and each other to do better and be better.
Providing WOW service to every customer, every time.
Creating ripples of goodness in our communities and supporting all those who live around us.
Award-winning home repair
Hear what our customers have to say
We understand you're probably not looking forward to hiring a contractor. But we believe we can change the perception of what you expect from one, and that a remarkable experience should be the standard. But hey, don't take our word for it - listen to what our valued customers have to say.
