Our purpose is to redefine our industry – in Omaha and Wichita, throughout Nebraska, Kansas, Western Iowa, and Missouri.
We believe experiences can be remarkable. Since 1975, we’ve focused on the value of doing whatever it takes to get the job done and “wow” our customers every step of the way.
The moment you walk into your basement and it’s flooded from last night’s rainfall, or you see cracks spidering up the wall, is a homeowner’s worst nightmare. When you know there is a problem, the feeling of “home” is displaced. Our job is to return that feeling to you.
We have always listened to the needs of our customers and grown our business to meet them. Our success is a result of expanding and evolving what we offer beyond basement waterproofing and foundation repair to include things like concrete repair and egress window installation – for a more complete set of solutions. Thrasher is humbled to be in the business of making whole the places where you live and work.
From small beginnings operating as a duo out of their farmhouse in 1975, Greg and Nancy Thrasher took a “whatever it takes” approach to keeping customers happy. Today we operate from two offices - Omaha and Wichita - across four states, and stay true to our roots by using quality products, installing them properly and standing behind our work.
Greg & Nancy Thrasher launch Thrasher Basement Water Control from their farm house in Earling, Iowa.
The Thrasher family moves to Omaha, Nebraska, continuing their home office and growing to 3 employees and 3 company vehicles by 1986.
Thrasher expands their service offering and begins helping homeowners not only with basement waterproofing, but with foundation repair as well.
The company is incorporated as Thrasher Basement Waterproofing, Inc.
A new friendship begins
Greg Thrasher meets Danny Morrow, owner of Kansas Basement Foundation and Repair, through the network of foundation repair dealers they both belong to. Their friendship continues for more than 20 years, sharing business ideas, best practices, and of course a yearly fishing trip.
First office building
Thrasher grows into their first official office and warehouse at 66th and Grover in Omaha, Nebraska, and begins serving homeowners across the entire state of Nebraska, Western Iowa and Northwest Missouri.
Basement Systems network
Thrasher Basement Waterproofing becomes a Basement Systems dealer, gaining access to patented products, comprehensive training and support. Today, Basement Systems is the largest network of independent basement waterproofing repair contractors, and grants us access to more than 30 patented products.
New company name
Thrasher changes its company name to Thrasher Basement Systems, Inc.
Greg Thrasher is seen as a leader among his peers in the basement repair industry, sharing lessons with other business owners and becoming a sought-after consultant in the industry. He assists in the development of a piering system and begins to develop a network of like-minded contractors who share and learn together.
Moving on up
Through a couple of building additions over the years, Thrasher continues to grow and moves into a new building at 12330 Cary Circle in La Vista in 2005. Sons Dan and Dave join the family business after receiving college degrees and a couple years of work experience. Dan focuses on the Thrasher business, while Dave focuses on taking Thrasher’s business principles to the network of dealers.
Thrasher’s sister company, Foundation Supportworks, Inc. is born. Supportworks designs and manufactures the highest quality foundation support and concrete repair products in the industry, available exclusively to a network of dealers across North America.
Kansas Basement and Foundation Repair
Alongside Thrasher, Kansas Basement and Foundation Repair is a Supportworks dealer from Day 1. Danny Morrow and Greg Thrasher continue as friends and business colleagues, both now offering basement waterproofing, foundation repair and concrete repair services.
Thrasher Basement Systems is re-branded to Thrasher, Inc.
Thrasher joins forces with Kansas Basement and Foundation Repair of El Dorado, Kansas, upon previous owner Danny Morrow’s retirement. As long-time friend and business colleague of Greg Thrasher, Danny knew he wanted to leave both his customers and employees in good hands.
Growth leads to new office buildings
Thrasher and sister company, Supportworks, grow to a new space down the street from Cary Circle at 11844 Valley Ridge Drive in Papillion, as well as a new space in Wichita, Kansas, 20 miles from the previous location in El Dorado. Additionally, Thrasher expands into Kansas City and hires former KC Masters Companies employees
First satellite location
Thrasher opens their first satellite location in Grand Island and Sioux City, NE.
