Thrasher and its employees have been recognized by some of the most well-respected local and national organizations for the demonstrated quality of service, integrity and work environment.
We love honoring our successes. They remind us of the impacts we make on our communities and the pride our teams, take in their work.
We have a storied history to tell and work hard to stay committed to our values and purpose, so when we are recognized by our peers and other esteemed national and local organizations.
Thrasher has earned the home service industry's coveted Angie's List Super Service Award, reflecting an exemplary year of customer service to members of the local services marketplace and consumer review site in 2016.
This achievement is particularly significant as Angie's List experienced unprecedented member growth in 2016. More than 1.6 million consumers, many of whom were eager to hire highly qualified service pros quickly, joined Angie's List after the company added a new, free membership tier.
"Companies that can meet higher demands without missing a beat in their exemplary performance standards truly do stand apart from their peers," said Angie's List Founder Angie Hicks. "Only a fraction of waterproofing and foundation repair companies in Omaha were able to do it."
Angie's List Super Service Award 2016 winners have met strict eligibility requirements, including an "A" rating in overall grade, recent grade, and review period grade. The SSA winners must also be in good standing with Angie's List, pass a background check and abide by Angie's List operational guidelines.
"We're doing things differently than anyone else in our industry and will continue to do so," said Thrasher President Dan Thrasher. "Our goal is to redefine the homeowner experience, and the way we do that is by challenging the status quo."
Service company ratings are updated daily on Angie's List as new, verified consumer reviews are submitted. Companies are graded on an A through F scale in areas ranging from price to professionalism to punctuality.
For more than 21 years, Angie's List restricted access to its verified reviews to consumers who paid membership fees. When the company removed that barrier, some companies worried that the new, non-paying members would not be as engaged as the past members. However, experience has shown that these newly added members are just as engaged – across all age groups – as prior members. Also, because the company continues to adhere to its review verification process, there has been no degradation of review quality.
"The biggest change at Angie's List is that we are connecting even more consumers to high-quality service professionals," Hicks said. "And that's good for everyone."

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) vision is "an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other." In this spirit, BBB's Foundation is pleased to conduct an annual awards program to gain public recognition for organizations that go "above and beyond" in serving all of its stakeholders and their community.
"BBB's Integrity Awards are designed to promote not only the importance of ethical business practices but also the willingness and efforts made by outstanding businesses and charities that demonstrate a solid commitment to marketplace trust," explained BBB President Jim Hegarty. "Being a winner of this prestigious award indicates that the organization not only believes in the high standards promoted by BBB but also consistently acts on them and continuously integrates them into daily practices."
The 2018 Award Winners were selected by independent judges representing businesses and academic and charitable organizations in metro Omaha. On Tuesday, October 9th, they were honored at BBB's 23rd Integrity Awards Luncheon held at the Embassy Suites Omaha - La Vista Conference Center.
In the large for-profit business categories, the companies awarded were: Makovicka Physical Therapy and OBI Creative (25-99 employees); Eyman Plumbing, Heating & Air (100-249 employees); Thrasher (250-499 employees) and NMC, Inc. (500+ employees). There were two charities with more than 25 employees that received a BBB Integrity Award: Community Alliance and OneWorld Community Health Centers, Inc.
Each organization received a crystal flame – a symbol that they are lighting the way for ethical business practices in our community.
The judges felt that other organizations that submitted applications were worthy of recognition too. Therefore, those also demonstrating that they placed a high priority on honesty and integrity in the workplace were recognized with "Silver Awards of Distinction" for significant commitment to ethical business practices and a "Bronze Award of Merit" for exemplifying the values of the BBB. They also serve as ambassadors of trust in the marketplace.
Hegarty stated, "BBB is pleased to honor these organizations. In today's challenging economic climate and complex world, honesty and integrity are more important than ever. Integrity Award Winners represent what is best about businesses in this Omaha – they have solid business practices based on a commitment to serve their customers with the highest standard of ethics. They have built successful companies because of the trust that has been established, and these Awards recognize their leadership in Omaha."
Better Business Bureau has been assisting U.S consumers and businesses since 1912. It is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing trust in the marketplace. In 2017, BBB provided nearly 225 million instances of service to businesses, charities and the general public. Best Places to Work in Omaha survey founder Baird Holm LLP, along with program sponsor, The Greater Omaha Chamber, are announcing – and applauding – the slate of 2016 winners.
Companies with more than 200 employees:
- C&A Industries
- Farm Credit Services of America
- Thrasher, Inc.
Created in 2003 by Baird Holm LLP, the Best Places to Work in Omaha initiative "recognizes those employers in Greater Omaha that have created truly great, engaging places to work. Along the way, the survey also provides a platform for employers to measure and set engagement goals tied to their business plans," said Scott S. Moore, survey founder and partner at Baird Holm.
The competition measures levels of employee satisfaction through an online survey. Quantum Workplace administers the survey, and SilverStone Group provides feedback.
"The Best Places to Work in Omaha initiative has become an invaluable tool for Omaha-area employers," Moore said. "The survey provides detailed information they need to produce teams of people that are engaged, productive and satisfied in their work. Earning this recognition is a great source of pride for the winners, and can also be used in both marketing and recruiting efforts."
"The bottom line – is the top line. More engaged employees help drive more profitable companies," said David G. Brown, president and CEO of the Chamber. "We'd like to thank all of the companies that participated in the Best Places to Work in Omaha process. We look forward to celebrating – and learning from – this year's winners."
