Luckily at Thrasher, we are foundation experts! There are multiple different factors of wall failure. The main element is the soil around your home. When the housing contractor dug out a space to start building the foundation, they backfilled the soil back around the foundation. This caused the backfilled soil to have voids. With this soil having gaps, moisture has an easier time penetrating the soil around your foundation. Here in the Midwest, we have what is called the clay bowl effect. Most of the ground In the Midwest Is mostly made of clay. It is caused by the backfilled soil having voids and the untouched soil surrounding the backfill not taking on so much water. This concentrates moisture entirely around your home's foundation. So, now you have a lot of moisture trapped close to your foundation walls.

What this then causes is hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure is the force created when water Is condensed together. When a lot of hydrostatic pressure occurs, it creates pressure on whatever surrounds it. Unfortunately, your foundation walls are what takes the brunt of this pressure. This hydrostatic pressure can cause cracks in your foundation walls and compromise the structural integrity of your home! It can also cause your bows to bow in and tilt. This can create a situation when one major weather event can ultimately cause your foundation wall to fail. Unfortunately, there is very little you can do about the soil around your home. One thing that is certain with wall failure is that Is never gets better with time. It only gets worst and more expensive. This is a terrifying situation to be in for any homeowner. Often your home is your most significant investment, and you want to protect it.

Luckily, at Thrasher, we have a solution that can permanently fix your foundation walls. The solution for extreme wall failure is The Shotlock Restoration System by Foundation Supportworks, Inc. This product uses GeoLock wall anchors, or Foundation Supportworks patented Powerbrace system. The Geolock Wall Anchor system consists of a plate that is often stabilized outside of your foundation wall (buried in the yard). Another plate is installed on the foundation wall. Both plates are then connected by a metal rod. This product is used to provide support for the failing wall. The Foundation Supportworks PowerBrace system is also utilized to stabilize your foundation wall, but everything is completed inside your home with no exterior digging required.

The PowerBrace beam is secured to the floor joist utilizing one of our patented brackets connected to the basement slab or footing. Once the wall stabilization product is put in, and the wall is permanently stabilized, Thrasher will build and install a rebar cage custom fit and produced on-site around the failing foundation wall. This rebar cage acts as a structure for our fiber-reinforced concrete material to adhere to. This fantastic concrete material is how Shotlock can be used in multiple different types of foundation wall failure situations. Shotlock can even be used with inadequate building materials such as stone, rubble, brick, or clay tiles. That is how strong and versatile this product is! We will then shoot the fiber-reinforced concrete at the wall through a hose. The force of the concrete adhering to the wall then makes the wall two times as strong as regular concrete. After we fill the rebar cage, our production team will smooth out the concrete. This creates a smooth finish that does not look out of place in your basement. Using these two products, we create a wall to stop your foundation walls from failing permanently. We, in a way, create a whole new wall around your existing foundation wall. The entire process often takes less than a week and is very noninvasive to your landscape and home. This entire process is way better than replacing your whole foundation, which is too invasive and expensive. Best of all, this warrants that your walls will not bow or tilt-in any further. Shotlock creates a permanent support system that is going to put your mind at ease.

So, if you have been in your basement recently and looked at your deteriorating mortar joints or severally cracked walls and wondered what can be done now, you know! Thrasher's patented wall stabilization with Shotlock is the answer to your questions.

Thrasher has 45 years of experience protecting and saving foundation walls and working with homeowners just like you to protect your most significant investment. We take great pride in our ability to restore lost peace of mind, improve your quality of life, and maintain your property value.

ShotLock is a foundation restoration system that utilizes a fiber-reinforced concrete material that is conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected onto a wall surface.
