The city sidewalk surrounding the building presented a tripping hazard, particularly for neighbors with mobility limitations. The sidewalk is a highly trafficked area on the corner of a city intersection. Thrasher partnered with inCOMMON to resolve the issue as part of our Leadership Immersion program.

Due to the caulking they had peeling back and breaking down, it had let water in and wash the dirt away under the slabs. The surface had pitting from the ice and snow melting, soaking into the concrete surface, then refreezing. Austin did his inspection and found one wall in her basement was bowing in and failing. To combat this issue and give it a permanent fix, Austin proposed we use CarbonArmor Straps. Gary and Margaret moved in last year and they are fixing up their new house. They wanted their patio to be nice enough to sit and garden on. Coley found there were signs of street creep, concrete expansion pushing on the house as concrete joints close over time. This usually comes from the road in front of your home expanding and pushing against your driveway, and then foundation. To combat this issue, we used compression guard. Steve has trusted Thrasher in the past to waterproof his basement, so he knew we would take care of his gutters. Steve's existing gutters had no covers and were full of leaves and debris. Clogged gutters make the gutter overflow causing to land next to the foundation. This can cause a lot of issues including eater in the basement of bowing basement walls. To combat this issue we installed Gutter Shutter. This is a 6 inch gutter with built in hood to keep leaves and debris out. It is super strong and is attached with two screws every two feet rather than one spike that has no threads. Steve loved these gutters and there is no doubt he has peace of mind for his home.

Some of our Project Managers went on job site visits to learn more about our products and services. Plus they gained a new appreciation for how difficult it is to work outside in the heat of summer. 

In Omaha, our service department raised $1,200 at the Cornfield to Cornfield race and the Market to Market race for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Association. The team spent time at the water station cheering on the runners and also helped to raise $600 for JDR.

Our Customer Care team packed 5,200 lbs of food for Foodbank for the Heartland which serves families across Nebraska and Iowa. They also put together 912 meals for kids in need.
