Waterproofing and Wall Support in Plano, IA
This homeowner just bought his new home and he was excited to start his first project of finishing the basement. When he went down to the basement to start working, he noticed that there were cracks in the walls which set off a worry about the home's structure and potential water damage. In his old home, he had used our services for foundation repair, so he decided to give us a call for a free inspection just to be safe and calm his worries.
We sent Service Technician Joe Rebik to inspect the homeowner's new basement to determine if there was any structural concern shown from the wall cracks. Joe found that there was a high level of hydrostatic pressure on the walls and that the walls were starting to move inwards, which is what caused the cracks to start showing and water to start seeping in. In order to fix this problem and help the homeowner to finish his basement, Joe designed a comprehensive structural and waterproofing system to fix all of the basement problems.
One of our installation teams came to this home and implemented this plan by utilizing PowerBraces to support the walls and push them back over time. After that, they started on waterproofing by installing a full perimeter WaterGuard Interior Drainage System and a full height CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to effectively drain water into a new Super Sump Pump that gets water up and away from the basement. The homeowner was very happy with the basement and he is excited to finish it now without worries. Check out these before and after pictures!
