This customer in South Bend, NE was noticing a musty odor in their home. Not knowing where it was coming from, they decided to take a look in their crawl space and noticed moisture causing this smell. They called Thrasher to see about getting rid of the water getting in the space and to protect their home from this happening again.

The team came out and found puddling water in spots in the crawl space causing high moisture levels which is why they were getting the odor in the home. We solved this by cleaning out the area and encapsulating the crawl space and sealing the area with a durable vapor barrier. This treatment totally separates and protects the crawl space from outdoor conditions, keeping the space clean and dry. 

This customer had weak floor joists and beams in their crawl space. This can cause the floor above to sink, slop, or sag. To fix this issue, our team installed our SmartJack system, which is steel columns that are secured to the beams or joists in the crawl space. This permanently lifts and stabilizes the pace. SmartJacks allow for adjustment and are custom-fit for every project!

We used helical piers to stabilize the corner of the home to prevent further damage and settlement. James also wanted to make sure that his crawl space was okay and could be used as storage. So we encapsulated the space with CleanSpace, drainage matting and put SilverGlo up on the walls to insulate for energy efficiency. A smart drain was also installed to alert him if water ever entered the space again and to keep humidity down, we also put in a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.
