In Colorado, the soil can cause problems for many foundations. This home was built on special supports called caissons to stop it from sinking into the soil. But there was a mistake—the house sank and twisted because the foundation was too heavy for the caissons. Other contractors thought the walls were leaning, but that wasn't the real problem. Even the engineer didn't put the support piers in the right place to stabilize the whole house.

 

To fix it, we made a plan to install piers all around the house to stop the home from sinking and to stabilize the foundation. We also used smart jacks to support the main beam in the middle of the house. 

 

Before Thrasher fixed the problems, the homeowner wasn't allowed to sell the house because of the problems it had. But when we fixed it, they said the crews did a good job and finished on time. They were so happy that they even asked us to do more work with concrete for them. They trusted us with their home and we hope you can too.

This was a long-time rental home that was experiencing deflection. She wants to get this fixed to protect her investment and increase the home's curb appeal. The problem was that the soil around her home started to shift, which caused slabs near the garage to sink into the earth. Slabs can sink for many reasons: a lack of compaction, soil drying out, or excess moisture. Our team used PolyLevel to lift and level the areas that had sunk.
